Thessaloniki

Thessaloniki is Greece's second-largest city and the capital of the prefecture of Macedonia at the northern part of Greece. Thessaloniki extends around the Thermaic Gulf. Thessaloniki is Greece's second major economic, industrial, commercial and political centre. Its commercial port creates a crossroad amongst Greece and its southeast European hinterland.
Its great cultural and historical importance is obvious to the visitor the minute he lays foot to it. Thessaloniki retains several Ottoman and Jewish structures as well as a large number of Byzantine monuments due to the great history it has and its significant role within the years.
